Hunters

Mankind's Last Line of Defense against the Supernatural
Its our world..

What Are Hunters?

Hunters are humans—sometimes ordinary, sometimes touched by fate—who have discovered the horrifying truth: monsters are real. Unlike most people, they refuse to look away. Whether fueled by tragedy, vengeance, or a calling, they dedicate themselves to fighting back against supernatural threats. Hunters are marked by their courage, obsession, and often, their isolation from the mundane world.

From ancient times to the present, hunters have existed in many forms: lone vigilantes, secret societies, church-sanctioned inquisitors, and more. Their knowledge may be imperfect and their weapons crude compared to their supernatural foes, but their will is indomitable.

What Hunters Do

 • Investigate Supernatural Events: Hunters track down rumors, sightings, and omens, separating fact from urban legend as they search for the truth behind the shadows.
 • Fight Monsters: They stand against blood suckers, moon beasts, reality warpers, and countless other horrors that prey on humanity.
 • Protect the Innocent: Despite being outsiders, hunters often risk everything to safeguard normal people from threats they can scarcely comprehend.
 • Form Alliances: Some hunters work alone, but many join networks or societies such as the Ashwood Abbey, Malleus Maleficarum, or Network Zero.
 • Redeemer's or Destroyers: Fallen are sometimes seen as Angel's worthy of redeeming or alternatively, they might be seen as spirits that need to be returned to the pit - they could also engage with Hunters for faustian style pacts.
 • Struggle with Their Own Humanity: The battle against monsters often takes a toll—physically, mentally, and spiritually—forcing hunters to confront difficult moral choices and personal sacrifice.

Why They Hunt

Each hunter is driven by a personal reason. Some seek justice for loved ones lost to supernatural predation. Others are compelled by faith, a vision, or a mysterious call. Many are bound by revenge, guilt, curiosity, or a sense of duty. Whatever the origin, the hunt becomes a defining force in their lives.

 • Revenge: Avenging a friend or family member killed by monsters.
 • Redemption: Making amends for past sins by opposing evil.
 • Curiosity: Seeking forbidden knowledge about the hidden world.
 • Destiny: Answering a call or fulfilling a prophetic vision.
 • Faith: Believing it is their divine or moral duty.

Some hunters find hope, camaraderie, or even supernatural allies along the way. For most, the hunt is a lonely road—but one they walk so others may live in ignorance and safety.
