“I fell, but I never surrendered.”
Overview
Jonny Vaughr is a [[Demon_Halaku|Halaku]] Fallen walking a careful line between survival and damnation. Once known as Baaleos, an angel of death and passage, he now inhabits a mortal shell taken in a moment of violence and opportunity. To the world, Jonny is a sharp-tongued, solitary musician with a talent for vanishing acts. Beneath that mask lies an ancient being scarred by the War, shaped by the Abyss, and terrified of returning to it.

Solitary Musician
Jonny Vaughr was unremarkable in life. His ambitions were small, his footprint faint. His death, however, mattered.
Stabbed in a quiet, forgettable moment, Jonny’s soul slipped free just as Baaleos clawed his way out of the Abyss. The vessel was vacant. The timing was perfect. There was no ceremony, no apology—only necessity.
Bound once more to fragile flesh, Baaleos awoke to a modern world he barely understood, burdened by returning memories and an overwhelming need for security. Survival became paramount. Power, protection, and resources were no longer luxuries—they were safeguards against eternal imprisonment.
Motivations & Goals
- Investigate the past to locate relics, artifacts, and forgotten sites of power
- Accumulate wealth and influence to ensure safety and mobility
- Avoid the notice of hunters, exorcists, and rival supernatural forces
- Maintain independence from demonic hierarchies and infernal politics
Underworld Ties
The Halaku were once scorned by other angelic Houses, their dominion over death and transition viewed with unease. In the Underworld, however, their legacy endures.
Jonny can step into the Shadowlands, moving unseen through the Tempest on wings of darkness. This ability grants him unmatched mobility—and leverage. Wraiths, spectres, and restless dead often find him before he seeks them out.
Some become allies. Others become tools.
Personality
Jonny presents himself as witty, sarcastic, and effortlessly intelligent. He knows how to be interesting. He knows how to be wanted.
What he does not know is how to be close.
Beneath the cultivated facade lies a being marked by loneliness, guilt, and fear. Every connection risks exposure. Every attachment is a potential weakness. The closer someone gets, the more he withdraws—afraid that intimacy will cost him his freedom, his vessel, or his eternity.
