A new chapter of Azmodan is taking shape: a location-based, World of Darkness-style game that brings your character into the world around you.
Open the app in your browser and create a player account. Demon, Vampire, Wraith and classic Hunter are the four character types currently available. More character types and spheres are being developed, so this is the beginning of a growing world.
When you are ready to enter the game world, you can choose to share your location and discover nearby characters on the live map.
We use slightly adapted Azmodan rules to bring these different supernatural worlds, or spheres, together. Each keeps its own character-creation rules and identity. Shared Azmodan rules help them use everyday dice rolls together, while the map respects the different realms and who can see whom. These are Azmodan house rules for our game.
Your first steps
You do not need to sign into this website to try the app. Choose Create your account, pick your player name and a passphrase, then save and verify the recovery file before activating your account online. Your player name is separate from the names of your characters.
The recovery file and its passphrase are your way back if you change device or lose the app's saved information. Keep them private and safe; the app has no email password reset. Our getting-started guide walks through each step, explains returning to an account and shows how to add the app to your home screen if you wish.
Your location, your choice
You can create an account and work on a character without joining the live map. Entering the world asks for location access and may show your character and location to nearby players when the game's rules allow it. Choose Stop sharing, leave the world or put the app in the background to end sharing.
One setting, separate projects
The app, this website and the MUD/MUX are separate projects. The website continues to offer lore and tools connected to the MUD/MUX, our separate text-based game. The app has its own account and progress; a website or MUD account does not automatically sign you into it.
This announcement describes the app. The MUD/MUX has its own features and development, so the app's unfinished features should not be read as a list of what is missing from that game. You can still find the MUD getting-started guide and explore the Wiki here.
